Water Resources Department of Bihar is taking active measures to contain floods under the Bagmati Floods Management programme. The department has invited bids in January 2021 for strengthening Sirnia Phuhiya embankment and Phuhiya . The scope of work involves strengthening of Sirnia Phuhiya embankment in 70.42 km, construction of embankment in 4.00 km length in unembanked portion near Phuhiya and construction of anti flood sluice at 70.793 km of Sirnia Phuhiya embankment.
The project cost is estimated at ₹ 1281 million. The work on the project is likely to be completed by December 2022.
